The client struggled with inconsistent system integration, which hindered scalability and data visibility essential for optimal clinical care. Accessing patient records was a manual, time-consuming process, posing risks to patient care and provider satisfaction. Additionally, the existing Medical Access Portal lacked real-time updates, preventing staff from accessing the most recent patient information.
Solution
Bounteous x Accolite employed a Design Thinking approach, gathering input from physicians, nurses, and other users across over a dozen hospitals to create a user-centric solution. Recognizing the diverse information needs of different medical specialties, we developed a persona-based solution.
The portal allows metrics to be configured based on any available patient lab results, displayed seamlessly on a single view. Comprehensive patient history is accessible regardless of age, highlighting the most relevant data for each specialty. Efficient order placement and enhanced result analysis streamline clinical workflows, allowing providers to place orders and analyze trends with ease.
Outcomes
The next-gen portal introduced innovative capabilities, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and accessibility, significantly increasing physician and nursing staff efficiency. Key patient condition changes are now visible on one screen, reducing the time required to identify critical information. The quality of care improved with easy access to historical patient information and the ability to correlate multiple data points visually. User involvement in the design process led to higher satisfaction among physicians and hospital staff, replacing the disliked existing portal and simplifying patient care delivery.
