Optimize and streamline product media asset management with the Bounteous Connector for Adobe Commerce and Adobe Experience Manager Assets. By replacing Adobe Commerce's, previously known as Magento Commerce, native files storage with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Assets experience the marketing power and simplicity of the industry’s leading Digital Asset Management (DAM) system without having to leave the Adobe Commerce interface.

Adobe Commerce is a fantastic platform for enabling merchants to manage large inventories of complex products, process thousands of orders, and accommodate customers of all interests with ease. AEM allows marketers to quickly find and edit the assets they need, confirm that they have the right versions, and easily share them across teams and channels.

Using AEM Assets with Adobe Commerce speeds content creation for commerce by providing seamless workflows for creatives, marketers, and eCommerce operations to work together.

Marc Infield and Marc Neubauer hosted a webinar outlining the Bounteous Connector for Adobe Commerce and AEM Assets where they demonstrate how merchants can create better UX to make shoppable experiences that lead to higher conversion rates and ROI, consistency of content across omnichannel retail experiences, and seamless workflows between Adobe Commerce stores and AEM Assets, enabling unified authoring and approval from creation through publishing.

Gathering Value from Assets

The connector augments Adobe Commerce’s native file storage with AEM Assets while delivering the power and simplicity of a DAM system directly in Adobe Commerce. Users can freely use these assets, or any other assets in the AEM DAM, to showcase products in the Adobe Commerce catalog, populate new page layouts, and support marketing activities such as campaign mailings and social media.

Content creators are able to find specific product images more easily. A variety of metadata is synchronized with the DAM from each Adobe Commerce product to make searching effective. This creates significant time savings and allows team members to focus on utilizing the assets across revenue-generating activities.

Adobe Commerce product managers are also able to utilize the DAM from within Adobe Commerce. They can still update products with images in the manner they are used to, with the additional option to send assets directly to the DAM. Product managers are not limited to image uploading new images only. Users can freely choose any asset from the DAM to use for a product image by using the searchable asset selector on each product’s edit page.

Through connecting the two platforms, previously siloed teams can work cross-functionally through seamless workflows.

Connecting Adobe Commerce and AEM

By connecting Adobe Commerce to AEM Assets, merchants experience a secure and trusted back end, with a flexible and dynamic front end.

To combine these two frameworks into a cohesive unit takes careful planning as well as an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each system. Success depends on the ability to leverage those strengths and avoid the weaknesses to deliver the best experience for customers while providing the tools employees need to work in the most efficient patterns.

That is where the connector comes in; it updates Adobe Commerce’s built-in product image management system to utilize the AEM DAM as if the two systems were one.

With the connector in place, users have the option to retain image assets on the Adobe Commerce server, or to send them to be stored in a centralized location in the AEM DAM. Any user with permission can access and utilize those assets with all the benefits that come along with using the DAM. This enables teams to leverage AEM Assets’ power for Adobe Commerce product images by:

  • Automatically creating optimized renditions with AEM Assets ingestion steps
  • Using Smart Crop & Smart Tag powered by Sensei
  • Re-using product images in other marketing-focused AEM components
  • Bulk syncing assets
  • Supporting metadata and file hierarchy
  • Serve Assets directly from AEM

Utilizing the Bounteous Connector for Adobe Commerce and Adobe Experience Manager Assets For Success

Assets in the DAM are ready to be integrated into the analytics platform for tracking and performance monitoring. Having all the assets in one location accomplishes more than searchability. Gain significant improvement in SEO and SEM by consolidating metadata imported in AEM upon asset creation.

The connector enables digital media teams to focus on what they do best while allowing commerce product managers access to the same assets. It also provides a business with the ability to source images from the same asset management system across platforms while ensuring the ability to provide a consistent product media experience across channels. Managing Commerce assets with AEM Assets gives teams the power of asset revision cycles, enabling consistency and control over releases.

Providing shoppers a great commerce experience is critical to achieving high engagement and driving conversions. The number of assets that commerce and content teams must manage to provide those experiences continues to grow as businesses grow. Without an efficient, scalable tool to organize and display assets, the process is time-consuming and costly.
